In 2009 the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Arts Board of the Australia Council for the Arts provided funding for CiCADA to develop a pilot program and mentoring support for emerging Indigenous artists.

In 2010 The Department of Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts contracted CiCADA to produce an intensive workshop program and provide six months of mentoring for young Indigneous artists through the Breakthrough initiative.

In 2013 CiCADA received support from the Department of Culture and the Arts in Western Australia to produce the Professional Music Development Pilot Nurlu Jalbingan in Broome.

In 2014 the Healing Foundation provided support for CiCADA to produce the songwriting program Empowerment through Expression in the Kimberley.



In 2016 APRA AMCOS provided a seeding grant to assist CiCADA in the development of the inaugural Australian Women in Music Awards.

In 2018 the QLD Government (Department of Premier and Cabinet and the Office for Women) and Canon provided funding to assist CiCADA to produce the inaugural Australian Women in Music Awards in Brisbane. 

In 2019 the QLD Government and Canon provided funding to assist CiCADA to deliver the 2nd Australian Women in Music Awards in Brisbane.
